FY 2023 Shelter and Services Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program makes available federal funds to eligible recipients and subrecipients for costs associated with providing shelter and other eligible services to noncitizen migrants who have been encountered and released by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Recipients of SSP may also seek grant funds for renovations or costs associated with modifications to existing facilities in support of individuals who have recently been released from the custody of U.S. Customs and Border Protection. WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program will augment organizational capacity in communities that may not have resources available to evaluate and develop projects that qualify for federal funding and financing programs. Funding will support the hiring of staff or the procurement of expert firms to provide financial, technical, and legal assistance; assistance with development phase activities; and information regarding innovative financing best practices and case studies.
