SDAO and NSDC Present Testimony on Federal OSHA Emergency Response Rules

The Special Districts Association of Oregon (SDAO) and the National Special Districts Coalition (NSDC) in collaboration with the Oregon Fire Chiefs Association (OFCA), the Oregon Fire District Directors Association (OFDDA), and the Oregon Volunteer Firefighters Association (OVFA), presented crucial testimony on November 15, 2024, regarding the proposed federal OSHA emergency response rules. This testimony was delivered during a public hearing aimed at discussing the implications and practicalities of the new regulations.

The joint testimony underscored the collective commitment of these associations to advocate for clear, actionable guidelines that ensure the safety and well-being of emergency responders while maintaining operational effectiveness. The associations emphasized the need for rules that are both comprehensive and adaptable to the diverse needs of all our member special districts and fire services across the country.
